A Penny For My Thoughts

I Endorse, For President Of The United States…

By Paul Wein

Every election for the last 14 years, I have endorsed candidates in each election that has taken place. Be it Mayoral, Gubernatorial – or Presidential – I have asked voters to vote for the candidate of my choice. For tomorrow’s historic Presidential election, however, I endorse the one and only candidate that is the true agent for change. The one and only candidate that can turn this country around – and the one and only candidate that will lead this country in the right direction.

This year, I endorse, for President of the United States…you.

Whoever your candidate of choice is is none of my business. But no one can argue with me that this is not the most important election in the history of our Nation. Our country is in a freefall and whoever becomes President tomorrow night will have his work cut out for him and have to take at least two years to at least try and straighten out the last eight years of the mess that we are in. But nonetheless, the most important person in this year’s election is you. While Barack Obama and John McCain claim they are agents of change – the only person that can change this county’s direction is you.

I am not going to do what I have for the last nearly decade and a half – write a column asking you to vote for a particular candidate. Instead – I am simply going to ask you to vote. But before you enter that voting booth, think about your personal situation and where you are now and where you want to be in four years. Who would ensure that you and your family are in a better place then you are now? With the current state of the world, it would be selfish of me to ask you to vote for a candidate that I think would be the best choice for this country – because right now – we all have individual situations that make this choice for President different for each and every one of us. No matter who you choose – it is essential that you vote.

Personally, I can’t wait to sit in front of my television tomorrow and see how the election unfolds. I get to watch the most important and historic election in our nation’s history unfold right before my eyes. Not only do I suggest that you vote – but I suggest that you do what I will – spend time with your family and see how the next four or eight years will play out for our country and our own personal lives.

Tomorrow, you have my endorsement – and I couldn’t have chosen a better candidate…

…make me proud.
