A Penny For My Thoughts

A Royal Good Time With A Bloody Good Friend

By Paul Wein

Over the course of my life, I have called many people "friend". And of all the people that I have given this title to - I am very happy to have given it to Arthur.

A native of England and a member of the South Park Booster Club, Arthur has evolved from a member of the Digest to one of my very good friends - and someone that I am very proud to know.

Just last Saturday, Arthur left Brooklyn and headed back home to England after spending two weeks at my house - and I miss him already. In the time that he spent here, he won over my friends, was designated honorary Captain of my home bar - and was the Guest South Park Booster Club Moderator for the week. He also did something that I will always be grateful for - he "South Parked" all of my friends into characters of the show that we all love so much against a backdrop of the New York City skyline - complete with the World Trade Center standing where it used to be. Seeing this picture of myself and all of my friends - including Bradd and Doug - made me and all of my friends ecstatic - and made Arthur a very popular man.

Besides missing Arthur, there is another "person" that I miss - Arthur's friend Stan. A plush doll of his favorite South Park Character, Stan goes everywhere Arthur does - which mans that not only did Stan come with Arthur to Brooklyn - but he came with us everywhere we went. From the Brooklyn Brewery, to The Late Show With David Letterman - to Broadway's Beauty And The Beast - where Stan got to take a picture with the actress that played Belle.

Besides the things we did and the places we went, I was very happy that I got the chance to spend some time with Arthur again in person. Although we speak quite often, he is a pleasure to be around and someone that I enjoy hanging out with. I only had the pleasure of hanging out with Arthur once before at the South Park Convention where we met for the first time - so having him at my house for close to two weeks was a treat for me - and hopefully a treat for him.

Arthur invited me and Christine down to London in January and I am going to try my best to get there. But if for some reason I can not - I know I will see him again at the Second Annual South Park Convention next June. Either way - I know I will see Arthur again - and I can't wait until I do.
